This provides enough guidance to let the kids feel mastery and enough freedom to allow their natural creativity to shine through. Having new artworks from your children every week is also a real pick-me-up for parents' busy lives.
Let your children enjoy these weekly art lessons... Ms. Judith continues to teach her students to create fun art projects that they are proud of. The lessons are relaxing and offer a safe and fun activity that keeps the learning momentum going....

Learning to make art is a big skill, not unlike learning to read. Children need foundational skills to learn how to read and write.
Art making also has foundational skills that can be taught. I have twenty years of experience teaching children and adults the foundational skills for drawing, painting, and sculpture in a fun step-by-step format that fosters a sense of mastery.
My favorite part of the lessons is when my students proudly show their parent or guardian their artwork and their adults are genuinely delighted and surprised with their work.
Many of my student's homes are decorated with framed class projects.
Thank you for your interest in my art lessons! Peaceful Happiness... Ms. Judith

Art is fun. It helps kids and adults be calm and happy...
Making art helps people to slow down and become more aware of the beauty of their visual surroundings.
Art making improves:
You also get beautiful works of art to take home, frame and hang proudly on your wall.
Drawing is the foundational skill for my art lessons: Every lesson starts with assembling the shapes... Then we will walk through the steps of applying various art media ...
Art skills we develop include:
Using high quality, non-toxic art supplies, your young artist will learn to create art using the following mediums:
Not all media used every term, but these are the art media and techniques used in my lessons... Each project will take 2 to 3 weeks to complete, depending on the complexity of the project...
Put a dot in the middle. I always start the lesson the same way. Often I will ask the kids: "What do we do first?" They'll all yell out... "Put a dot in the middle!"
And so it goes, first the dot, then a line, this side of the middle, this long, and at this angle... Put a smile and a frown around that line and we will have an oval in the right place, angle and size. I start all of my art lessons with shapes ...
Put the shapes together in the right way and boom - a duck that looks like a duck... Kids love that, adults love that; and that is how we start every lesson.
In-Person Class: All Art Spark Levels...
Dear Ms Judith,
Thank you! Thank you for teaching me lots and lots of Art. It helped when we are doing art projects in school. I hope you are having a very wonderful Christmas and a very Happy New Year! I hope you had a very good year. Your art classes are sooo very fun and good. Everyday I couldn't wait until Wednesday would come... Just thank you so much for everything you've done... I just can't write or say how thankful I am of your art classes and for teaching me and making me better at art! I hope to see you next year... Have a merry merry Christmas and a happy New Year... Ethan (9 yrs)
Picasso once said:
"Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up."
I sincerely believe that Mr. Picasso is right. Kids get art intuitively.
The goal of my teaching is to give my students the art making skills and confidence they need to allow their creative natures to flourish into adulthood...
I try to keep kids in the same age group together: I can be flexible, but try my best to avoid putting my youngest students with the older kids.... They need different teaching styles... If you have any questions about the most appropriate class for your child, please call Judith at: 905-839-7816.
Art Spark Beginners: 6 to 10 yrs
The beginners class is actually for my youngest students. For this group I will simplify the lessons a lot and give them shorter tasks to address the smaller attention span...
Art Spark Kids: 8 to 14 yrs
Kids at various art skill levels all in the same group. Everybody does the same lesson. For the kids who are more inexperienced I'll simplify it. If I have very experienced kids in that same group, I'll give them more creative scope. The important thing is that the attention span and ability to understand is at a similar level
Art Spark Youth: 12 to 18 yrs
This class is taught closer to the way I teach adults. This group will have more complex set of instructions and longer demos. They will have more creative freedom to choose their references.
